Watching the weather from our window.
7 am - looked out, saw light rain
9:25 am - getting better
10:30 am getting better
Some good comes from the intermittent mist/rain
At 11 am we boarded the bus for our first adventure of the day.
The squiggles on this map to not do justice to the road.
Ørnevegen –Eagle Road – is the name given to the steepest stretch of road up the mountain side from Geiranger. The road swings through 11 hairpin bends up from the Geirangerfjord and to the highest point on the stretch, 620 metres (2034 ft) above sea level at Korsmyra. The road officially opened in 1955.
We stopped at the Ørnesvingen viewpoint. Here you can look back to Geiranger....
Here Dalsnibba is clear at the top (mtn on left)
But soon it is back in a small cloud (mtn in middle)
.... you can also look out to the Seven Sisters Falls (on the right of the fjord).
Our route took us down along the Storfjorden....
,,,,and some farms.
Even some new snow up on the mountain.
We arrived in Herdalssetra at the Dale Goat Farm owned and operated by Jostein Sande and his wife Åshild Dale. An old Viking farm it has been in the same family since 1790.

After learning about the farm, we were treated to a wonderful luncheon including soup, various types of goat cheese and a tasty dessert.
When we returned to Geiranger along the same route we stopped at water's edge for a chance to see "downtown."
To return to the hotel we took the 327 step staircase walk back to the hotel along the waterfalls. Again, the falls start up on the mountain .....
and continue to the fjord.
Pretty wild flowers along the way.
There is a lot of water coming down.
